Architecture and Design Tours at Hotel Rantapuisto

From Bank Training Center to a Design Meeting Hotel

The main building of Hotel Rantapuisto was completed in 1963 as the training center for Pohjoismaiden Yhdyspankki, set in the heart of East Helsinki’s natural landscape. Its rational, clean-lined architecture blends harmoniously with the surrounding forest and rocky shoreline. The building is considered a true “total work of art,” where every element has been carefully designed and the refined finish extends to even the smallest details.

Throughout Rantapuisto, guests can still admire many original interior features, including furniture, lighting fixtures, fireplaces, and ceiling structures. During this architecture and design tour, we explore the history of Hotel Rantapuisto and its present-day role as a unique seaside hotel and meeting venue.

The tour concludes with a Kukkapuro shot, while we also reveal the truth behind the widely circulated urban legend connected to the iconic “Kukkis” chair.
