Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How late can I check in?
- The reception is open 24/7, so you can check in at any time. However we recommend that you contact us if it looks like your arrival will be exeptionally late.
The check-in time is officially at 3 pm, but could I have an early check-in?
- Possibility for an early check-in always depends on the room availability of the day. For example, how many rooms are vacant and if our housekeepers have been able to clean them yet. If we do have a room available, we'll give it to you free of charge. In the case that a room isn't available at your requested time, we have a locked luggage room where you can leave your belongings to wait for check-in.
Even though the check-out time is at 12 pm, could I keep my room for longer?
- Late check-out is available to add to your reservation for 10€/hour, which you can request for example during your check-in or even on the previous evening.
Why do I need my ID to check in? And why does a register card have to be filled out?
- We always request to see the ID for the person who made the reservation so that we can guarantee we to know who is staying with us in a possible emergency situation. The Finnish accommodation law requires all accommodation providers to fill out a traveller registration with these specific details. We are then required to store the registration forms for 12 months, after which they are disposed of in accordance to information security guidelines. We can not decide what details need to be added and we can't forgo the use of the register forms.
Can you cancel my booking that has been made through a third party? (Booking.com, Hotels.com etc.)
- Unfortunately we are not able to directly cancel bookings that have been made with third parties. In order to do this most efficiently, we recommend contacting the third party's customer service directly.
My reservation includes complimentary use of the sauna. Where is it and how does it work?
- The guest sauna is located in the main building's sea wing, and you will need a separate key which you can pick up in the reception, for example during check-in or on your way to the sauna. For the beach sauna, which is separate from the main building, you can make reservations for public shifts or rent it privately for an additional cost. More current information on the saunas via this link: https://www.rantapuisto.fi/en/sauna
Can I invite a friend to my room?
- We don't usually recommend bringing non-lodging guests to the rooms, as per the security policy we need to know who- and how many people are in our rooms. However depending on room type we can add up to two people to the reservation for 15€/night/person.
Do you have a hole in the ice for ice swimming?
- Unfortunately we do not, since we don't have the possibility to maintain it enough to ensure its safety and continued availability.
